Five Governors are nominated (by the Lord Chief Justice, the Bishop of London and Universities of Oxford, Cambridge and London), seven are co-opted. Seven of the Governors live in or near Highgate.

JOHN MILLS, Esq, CBE, MA, BLitt (Treasurer and Chairman)
Nominated by the University of Oxford
John Mills (OC) retired in 2007 after a lengthy career in the UK public service which included five years in the Hong Kong Government and an extensive spell as a member of the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit. From 2003-2007 he was Director of Rural Policy at the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. Previous roles included Director of Consumer Affairs at the Office of Fair Trading, Chief Executive of Cornwall County Council and Chief Executive for Policy and Resources in Jersey. Mr Mills is Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Port of London Authority, a non-executive member of the Board of the Commission for Rural Communities and a Commissioner of the Jersey Financial Services Commission. He was awarded the CBE in 2008 for his public service.
BOB ROTHENBERG, Esq, MBE, BA, FCA, CTA, MAE (Deputy Chairman)
Bob Rothenberg (OC) was a Highgate parent and is the senior partner in Blick Rothenberg, chartered accountants. Mr Rothenberg was made an MBE in the 2007 New Year's Honours List for services to business and to the community in London. He is a trustee of The Prince’s Foundation for the Built Environment and a number of other charities. His professional work extends to general, financial and commercial advice and he acts as a trustee and an executor for a number of clients. Mr Rothenberg lectures on taxation and company law and is joint author of Understanding Company Accounts, now in its fourth edition, and Mastering Business Information Technology. He is regularly quoted on tax and commercial issues in the national press and appears on these topics on radio and television.

Paul Marshall (OC) is a chartered surveyor who has for many years run his own successful property business.
Dr KATE LITTLE, MB, BS, BSc
Kate Little is a local GP (as Dr Jolowicz) whose three children are former pupils of the School.
Miss RACHEL LANGDALE, QC

Rachel Langdale is a barrister who lives in Highgate and is the parent of two Highgate pupils.
MARK CLARKE, Esq, MA, FCA
Mark Clarke (OC) has non-executive roles at the British Chambers of Commerce, the House of Commons and University College London and was until 2008 Director General (Finance & Strategy) at the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. His son is a former pupil of the School.
Professor BRIAN DAVIDSON, MD, FRCS, MB, ChB, MD, FRCPS(Glasg), FRCSE(Hon)
Professor Davidson is Consultant Surgeon at Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead and Professor of Surgery at University College London. He has three children at the School.
JEREMY RANDALL, Esq, BSc
Jeremy Randall is a company director with interests in property development and fine art. He is an active trustee of a number of charities with an emphasis on helping young people.

John Claughton is Chief Master of King Edward’s School, Birmingham.
Professor KATHY WILLIS, BSc, PhD
Katherine Willis holds the Tasso Leventis Chair in Biodiversity in the Department of Zoology at the University of Oxford and is Director of the Biodiversity Institute, Oxford Martin School and Head of the Long Term Ecology Laboratory. She is a Professorial Fellow at Merton College and also holds an adjunct Professorship in Biology at the University of Bergen, Norway. Professor Willis has been involved with research and teaching in biodiversity, conservation and management for over twenty years at both Oxford and Cambridge.
MIKE DANSON, Esq, MA
Mike Danson is the Chairman of Progressive Media Group and proprietor of The New Statesman. Prior to this he was founder and Chief Executive of Datamonitor plc, the world’s leading on-line database and analysis service for key industry sectors. Mr Danson has particular interests in education and is a member of the Advisory Board for St Anne’s College, Oxford. He has four children at Highgate School.
ALY PATEL, Esq, MA
Aly Patel (OC) is currently undertaking an MBA at Harvard Business School, having worked in private equity finance at Apax Partners and Goldman Sachs. Whilst at Apax Partners, Mr Patel was involved with one of the Prince of Wales’ charities, Business in the Community.

Governors meet six or seven times a year. There are also when required Finance and General Purposes, Estates, Charity and Development Committees.
