There are two parents' associations at Highgate – the Highgate School Parents’ Association (HSPA) for the Senior School and the Highgate Pre-Prep and Junior Schools Parents' Association (HSPPJSPA) for the other two parts of the Foundation.
HIGHGATE PRE-PREP & JUNIOR SCHOOL PARENTS' ASSOCIATION
The HSPPJSPA’s key objective is to promote the welfare of children across the Pre-Prep and Junior School. The aim is to foster a sense of community among the members of the Association by organising social events and functions for members that support the welfare of children and which are generally inclusive of all children across a wider group within either the Pre-Prep or the Junior School. The association typically organises certain key events (Christmas Market, Fireworks evening, Quiz night and a Summer Fair) which are not only social in nature but also have a largely charitable purpose, whereby the proceeds are distributed to charities nominated and voted on by parents in any given academic year.
All parents are very welcome to become involved with the parents’ association, either a class representative or by helping out at in any way at one of the events. There are many ways that parents can become involved if they wish to help. Please contact the chair via the website (on the link below) for further information.
Communications from the HSPPJSPA for parents are available electronically on the Highgate Parent Portal.
The PA hosts welcome drinks in the Michaelmas term to which all parents across the Pre-Prep and Junior School are welcome.
HIGHGATE SCHOOL PARENTS' ASSOCIATION (Senior School)
All parents/guardians of pupils in the Senior School are members of the HSPA. Our objective is to provide social events for parents (such as drinks receptions, a Burns’ Night Ceilidh, Quiz night, and the Leavers’ Summer Ball) and to support the school in all its endeavours. The HSPA also works closely with the School to organise a number of presentations throughout the year by guest speakers on a range of pastoral topics that are of interest to the community. 2014–2015 saw a major focus on the theme of mental health and well-being. In addition, a key aim of the HSPA is to harness the skills base of the parent body to help pupils through educational, cultural and careers events.
Officers are elected annually, and there are regular meetings which all parents are welcome to attend. Come early as we leave time for drinks and conversation before business!
All HSPA communications for parents are now available electronically on the Highgate Parent Portal.
