Admissions at 16+: Sixth Form

Open Evenings for 2011 entry will be held on Thursday 16 September and Thursday 7 October at 4.45pm. Please call the Admissions Office on 020 8347 3564 to book a place.

The closing date for applications to be assessed in November is 5pm on Friday 15 October.

Our Assessment Day is on Saturday 6 November and all firm applicants will be asked to attend one of two sessions that day. The programme will include interviews in each of the subjects nominated for Sixth Form study, a short thinking skills test and a general interview with a senior member of staff.

Any applicant who wishes to be assessed for an academic award will have an additional interview and should inform the admissions office. A Sixth Form award would usually require a pupil to anticipate getting 8 or 9 A* at GCSE. Further information on academic awards can be found here.

For music scholarships, those whose applications are regarded as indicating appropriate ability (as a guide at least Grade 8 on a first instrument) are invited to attend an audition. Further information on music scholarships can be found here.

Highgate School was founded as a charity by Sir Roger Cholmeley in 1565. Since then we have always given financial support to a number of pupils whom we know will thrive at Highgate but whose families cannot afford the full fees. Currently there is a range of bursary support available. Some pupils are awarded small bursaries that supplement the significant contribution made by their parents/carers; other pupils are awarded large bursaries that cover most or all of the fees. Bursaries are funded out of the income the school receives from sources other than fees. The Friends of Highgate School also support some awards.
