news ss higher education event l17 rectangle

This term Yr 12 pupils have begun their initial exploration into higher education opportunities.  Pupils and parents attended a higher education seminar given by the 6th form team covering many aspects of the UCAS process, including Oxbridge applications, Art and Design foundation courses and alternative routes to employment. This was shortly followed by seminars given by Durham, Edinburgh and Leeds universities on a variety of topics including student life, finance and personal statements. A Higher Education fair was later held at the Mallinson Sports Centre in which a diverse range of over 35 universities were represented, including nearly all the major Russell Group universities.  Owing to the  increasing interest of our pupils in studying abroad, a range of international universities from US, Canada and Australia, were also on hand to advise pupils on degree courses and applications.  The high turnout from Highgate School and our partnership schools created a buzzing atmosphere and pupils left feeling more informed and excited by the prospect of higher education.
