Reception's trip to the Tower of London
OUR RECEPTION PUPILS HAD A GREAT TIME EXPLORING THE TOWER OF LONDON
The day of the school trip arrived and everyone was excited. The pupils were optimistic that they would see the Queen or at least one of her corgis. After learning about the Crown Jewels the pupils were impressed by their beauty and liked identifying different pieces they had learnt about in class, especially the orb and sceptre and the Imperial State Crown.
The pupils enjoyed their workshop with Princess Elizabeth. She took them to the King’s bedroom where they made comparisons to their own bedrooms. They learnt about family crests and all the different people who work in a castle.
The pupils liked visiting the White Tower and seeing armour that had been made for Princes, Kings and horses. The pupils were pleased to see the Beefeaters or Yeoman Warders as they walked around the grounds. However, they were even more delighted to spot the ravens as this reassured them that neither the Tower or the kingdom will crumble as they are there!
