Bin Raiders

Pupils in Years 3 and 4 learnt the importance of saving energy and recycling from a stage show entitled ‘Bin Raiders’, put on by Quantum Theatre on 4 October.

The aim of the performance was to encourage children to learn more about the environment and related issues in a fun and interactive way, by exploring how everyone can take responsibility for the environment and highlighting how everyday actions can reduce energy wastage and what's being thrown away.

The play is set on Earth where the wastage of energy and resources has escalated to the point that far away - in another part of the Universe - the ‘Eco-Friendly Federation of Planets' has issued a warning to save humankind. Bin Raider - an interplanetary trouble-shooter - is sent from the planet Spotless to find out what is going wrong and to educate the profligate Earthlings.

The far-reaching message of the show - issued in a fun way – was to show the pupils what they can do to help our planet by recycling and saving energy.  VN
