Blood Wedding
Pupils from Years 11-13 performed Lorca’s explosive tragedy last week to packed audiences on all three nights. The searing heat of the Spanish landscape and the intensity of the violent scenes were captured beautifully by Mr Nairne’s carefully designed lighting scheme, enabling the Drama Studio to become a convincing setting for this passionate drama. With movement scenes choreographed by Mrs Rodgers and live guitar music performed by Ben Parkin (12GH) the production aimed to recreate the distinctive pattern and rhythm of Lorca’s language. Mortiz Hellmich (12SG) took some atmospheric photographs of the dress rehearsal.
