Caricature Fun

Monday 22 June saw Year 3 and 4 children enter the world of intricate caricature production. Popular author & illustrator duo Knife and Packer visited the two year groups and talked the children through the various stages of drawing distorted images of monster-like creatures – to the children’s utmost entertainment and amusement. With no further encouragement, gentle mockery of natural and acquired characteristics, as well as vanity features of extreme mannerisms and expressions appeared on the children’s drawing boards, to the delight of all teachers present at the talk!

Knife and Packer develop all their characters, stories and designs together, as well as perform with each other. They also write comic strips for the Guardian, The Sunday Times and Private Eye.

The artwork is on display in the Junior Library.  VN
