Chrysalis Chemistry
On the 22nd June 50 pupils from five partnership schools joined all of the Year 12 chemists for a day of Chemistry enrichment. Pupils were encouraged to think beyond the syllabus in workshops ranging from making batteries to analysing chlorophyll. They also had the opportunity to consider career options in Chemistry and write the perfect UCAS reference. All pupils learnt about 'soft matter' in an engaging lecture delived by Dr Susan Perkin from University College, London and were finally treated to a spectacular series of demonstrations from our very own Dr Andrew Szydlo.
