DofE Gold practice

Mr Short, Dr Stubbs, Dr Atkinson, Mr Pearce, Miss Gardiner and Mr Dawson took 22 Year 12 pupils on the Gold Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition in Snowdonia.

There was a day of navigational practice with the help of teachers before the sixth formers set off in their four separate groups.

Almost everything went perfectly to plan, allowing the staff and pupils (the later heavily laden with backpacks) to enjoy the beautiful sunshine.

Mr Short valiantly offered to wait with the minibus in case of emergencies whilst the rest of the staff climbed Snowdon in unprecedented weather conditions, enjoying spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. The sixth formers seemed to enjoy their walks too and came back with rather fewer blisters than expected.  LAP
