Happy Puzzle Day

Thursday 24 September saw students in Year 5 experience one of the most extraordinary educational challenges around.

A day of fun, learning and investigation run by The Happy Puzzle Company was enjoyed by all taking part in a fantastic journey through the world of puzzles and challenges, turning the apparently impossible into the possible.

The activities were aimed at improving the students’ thinking skills and team skills, whilst boosting their confidence in the process and raising their expectations of what they could achieve in the classroom.

All challenges were linked to a variety of areas across the curriculum and presented in an age-relevant and context-appropriate way for Key Stage 2. The focus of the programme was on gradual progression of achievement and not competition. Students were genuinely challenged throughout the tasks, but they found that using the right strategies and effective teamwork could actually solve the puzzles.

A great day of fun was had by all and organized by Lucy Szemerenyi. VN
