Tudor Workshop

Junior School students were transported into Tudor times via the inspirational presentation and workshop put on by Lucie and Roddy Skeaping.

This truly cross-curricular experience was enjoyed by all year groups; experiencing a range of sources including documents, artefacts, pictures and music, to bring to life the colourful times of the Tudors.

As well as being able to identify the sounds of various families of instruments, the children had the chance to observe how music in the past was dependent upon and reflected the venue and occasion of the performance and the way of life of people at different levels of society.

At the end of the day, the children rehearsed songs and instrumental music of the period, culminating in a dramatic performance.
