Victorian Day
Thursday 5 February saw Year 5 travel back in time to the Victorian Era. Children came to school in fabulous costumes and represented all sections of Victorian Society from scrubby street urchins and chimney sweeps to those in service, to well-to-do Ladies and Gentlemen! The day was spent reliving the school experience of Victorian children – with dunce’s hats, dictation, recitation, the 3 R’s and drill! It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and thanks go to Catherine Pope for organising it so successfully.
