Year 1 Eco Workshop

Eco workshop run by Recro-it, Year 1 Thursday 26 January 2012

Year One enjoyed their workshop where they learnt how we can bring a little bit of nature into the big city we live in. In groups of 6, 1F and 1K worked collaboratively to produce a miniature garden. They decided on the design of the garden and made fences and signs to put in it. They then raked the soil and sprinkled cress on one part of their garden. On another part they planted wheat which will grow to look like grass.

At the end of the sessions the children listened carefully to some peaceful music and imagined they were climbing up a big mountain, and looking at all of the nature around them.

Year 1 are going to take care of their miniature gardens by watering them and letting them get sunlight. They hope that the other classes are able to enjoy them too!  SF
