Year 6 Residential Trip
On Sunday, June 5th 77 children from Year 6 set off for a week of outward-bound activities based in the Pembrokeshire Activity Centre in Pembroke Dock.
Unlike the weather, which was cool and blustery (albeit sunny), the food and accommodation were excellent and the children were busily occupied by a daily programme of three activities which included crag climbing, canoeing, surfing, coasteering, sailing, climbing, problem solving, coastal walking and sessions on the green gym.
One of the huge strengths of this centre is the experience and dedication of the instructors, who make each and every activity a quality experience. Despite this being the first time away from home for many, there were no tears at bedtime – (perhaps the children were just too tired!) and in the words of several parents, the children seemed to return visibly taller and more confident!
