Our Targets
We want to appoint additional teachers in Mathematics, the Sciences and Modern Languages. These new teachers, alongside their departmental colleagues, will lead and contribute to academic outreach partnerships with local secondary and primary schools. Our partners tell us that they are finding it hard to give their most talented pupils access to excellent teaching in these particular subjects. We want to dedicate in total the equivalent of five full time teachers to our partnerships.
We want there to be at least 70 pupils with full-fee bursaries at Highgate School, most of whom will join us at age 11.
We want to appoint two additional teachers with the responsibility to work with our many partners in our local community, to develop the many outreach links between Highgate School and our neighbours. These teachers and also some of their colleagues will create and lead worthwhile opportunities for all our pupils to give time in selfless service to local charities, schools and organisations.
To employ one teacher for one year to we need a gift of £50,000. To give complete support to one full-fee bursary award holder for one year, we need a gift of £16,000. Therefore, each and every year, we are seeking to raise in the region of at least £1,500,000. The more we raise, the more we can do to transform children’s lives. To have a confidential conversation about making gifts to support our charitable vision, please contact The Director of Sir Roger Cholmeley’s Charity, by email to Robert Wilne or telephone 020 8347 2102.
