Joining our Sixth Form

In September 2025, we hope to welcome upwards of 30 boys and girls into Year 12, from a variety of schools and backgrounds. They will join around 185 Sixth Form pupils, moving from Year 11 to Year 12 in our Senior School.

Visit us

Open Events are an opportunity to get to know the school better and include:

  • A tour of the facilities and classrooms
  • A talk with Senior members of staff and pupils
  • A chance to meet key departmental staff and Admissions Team

Our next Open Event for pupils starting in September 2025 will take place in the Autumn, bookings for this event will open in Summer 2024 – please register your interest to receive email updates.

 

Entry requirements

Our entry requirements for Sixth Form are 8s or 9s at GCSE in the four subjects applicants want to study at A Level, and an additional four 7s or equivalent. Where a subject is new at A Level, applicants will need to have achieved a grade 8 in a related GCSE subject. A personal statement isn’t required.

Please review our admissions policy, then complete and submit your application by the advertised closing date. There is an application fee of £150 which is payable online via Paypal or card and all applications are acknowledged via email. Bursary applicants with a gross household income of under £30,000 are not required to pay the full application fee.

Interview day
November 2024

All registered applicants will be asked to attend interviews in person at the school. The Interview Day for 2025 entry is on Saturday 9 November 2024.

You will have interviews in each of the subjects nominated for Sixth Form study, plus a general interview with a senior member of staff, there is no written assessment. We will send more details about the assessment day closer to the time. Interviews offer a chance to meet our staff and ask any specific questions you have about your subject choices.

Successful candidates
late November 2024

Our decision letters for 2025 entry are sent to all successful candidates following the interviews at the end of November 2024. Responses must be received by 12 noon, Thursday 12 December 2024.

Offer holders event
early December 2024

We will invite offer holders to an informal reception in early December so they can meet staff, sixth formers and other prospective students. You’ll be able to hear from the Head of Sixth Form and ask any questions you may have before starting with us.

Exam Results
August 2025

Once you have received your GCSE results, these should be sent to our Admissions Office who will confirm your place.

Welcome events 2025

At the end of the Summer and prior to the start of Term in September 2025, we’ll hold induction events to help new sixth formers settle in and find their way around the school.
