Working with others is what we do, and Highgate leads the UK in building partnerships between state and independent schools. Our partnership teaching means we can share Highgate’s academic expertise with other schools, and broaden our understanding of our community and play a richer part in it.

Stronger educational partnerships mean we can continue to attract the best teachers, who are passionate about their subject and want to push themselves in new and different ways.

Even better, we can reach more children beyond our walls and help them achieve their full potential. In 2015-16, our Highgate partnership teachers reached 1,800 pupils across 40 state primary and secondary schools.

Our work so far has focused on sharing teaching expertise in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Thanks to generous donations, Highgate has been able to employ 4.5 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) members of teaching staff and a full-time Partnership Teaching Coordinator to develop partnership teaching projects.

We have also partnered with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club to open the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham, a new state-funded sixth form school which will attract children from all backgrounds. Highgate School will deploy the full-time equivalent of five members of the total teaching staff, as well as providing wider administrative, pastoral and management support.
