Assessments

Following your application, we’ll invite your child to attend an assessment at the school in early December. This consists of tests in English and Mathematics. We understand how nervous some pupils will be so we aim to make the day as fun and stress-free as possible.

To help your child prepare for the tests, here is a 7+ sample test paper for English and for Mathematics.

We will also request a confidential report from your child’s current Headteacher.

Interview & activity day

After the first assessment, your child may be invited back to a second assessment in early January, this involves a taster lesson and group interview.

As well as allowing us to get to know your child better, it also gives them a chance to experience school life and to learn more about our teaching.

Offers

The outcome of the second assessments are sent to candidates towards the end of January.

If your child receives an offer of a place we will invite families to come for a tour of the school and to ask any questions before making your decision. We would require a response by early February, and a deposit is payable upon your acceptance.
