Seven schools, one trophy!
THE ANNUAL HIGHGATE CHRYSALIS JUNIOR MATHEMATICS COMPETITION WAS A MASSIVE SUCCESS
On Monday the second of July, we hosted the annual Highgate Chrysalis Junior Mathematics Competition for Year 7 and Year 8 from our Partner Schools. We were joined by seven schools, including Greig City Academy, Highgate Wood School and Kingsford Community School. Pupils competed in teams of four to try to win the trophy.
The pupils competed in four rounds, the lightning round, the box building challenge, the group round and finally the relay round. In the box building challenge, the teams had to build the box that could hold the largest volume of rice using just one A4 piece of card.
The competition was extremely close until our final round where one school pulled ahead to steal the lead. The final standings were in third place, Kingsford Community School, in second place, Highgate and in first place, Highgate Wood School.
