On Thursday 28 February, 49 delegates from UK universities, international universities and gap year organisations arrived at the Mallinson Sports Centre for our annual Higher Education Fair.
With 300 Year 12 pupils from Highgate, London Academy of Excellence in Tottenham, Alexandra Park School and Camden School for Girls attending the fair, there was a tremendous buzz throughout. As pupils start to think about their next steps, they were able to talk to university staff in a familiar environment and gather information. All arrived brimming with questions and left with helpful answers, more questions and a raft of prospectuses!
In addition, a range of seminars held before the event helped our sixth formers discover what makes a good personal statement and hear about applying to competitive courses, Scottish universities, North American universities, and degree apprenticeships.
All exhibitors at the fair were highly impressed. One delegate said: ‘I was particularly struck by how focused your pupils were – lists of questions, lots of detail being sought. A very impressive group of young people indeed’, whilst another commented on how engaging and attentive our pupils were in the seminars.
Lots for our sixth formers to think about – and get excited about – over the coming months!
