On Wednesday 27 March, Camden’s Roundhouse played host to our first OC Creative Arts Section event.
Organised by our Development Office, the evening involved a real mix of live pop-up acts by OCs working in the creative sector: dance (Noga Inspector TL 2017), drama (Bruce Allinson WG 2017, Maxim Uys GH 2017), song (Sam Carl KG 2010, Beth Chalmers NG 2015 and Tom Stephens WG 2014), and an especially sassy drag act (Guy Woolf TL 2009). Attendees were also surrounded by some remarkable art pieces, thanks to Marco Palumbo (QG 1991) and Martin Clark.
Stuart Evans, Head of Alumni Relations, explains: ‘The idea behind our OC Creative Section is to create a space for likeminded OCs, and to promote all the wonderful career opportunities that the creative industries can offer. Highgate has a strong history of creativity, and we are keen to see it continuing to flourish!
‘We are extremely grateful to our host, Marcus Davey, Chief Executive and Artistic Director at the Roundhouse, and to Clare Rogers (Performing Arts, Head of Sport and Exercise), for making this evening such a success.’
Stuart added: ‘If you have any suggestions or would like to talk about hosting an event in the future – on whatever scale – please contact our Development Office on email: OC@highgateschool.org.uk. We would be delighted to hear from you!’
