Highgate Junior School’s charity week saw Tottenham Hotspurs player, Michel Vorm, join our sponsored walk in aid of Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.

Michel and pupils completed a one-mile route of our School grounds with many pupils sporting homemade animal masks or costumes, in keeping with the walk theme “March of the Animals”. The Tottenham goalkeeper then helped pupils paint the mural that our Junior School has produced for The Ark, a new hospice building which will support children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

Mark James, Principal of our Junior School, said: ‘We were delighted to welcome Michel to our Junior School. Pupils and staff enjoyed meeting a Premier League footballer and having the opportunity to ask questions and take photos. Highgate is very proud of its partnership with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, particularly through the London Academy of Excellence in Tottenham. Equally, it is great to work together to raise money for a worthwhile cause like Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.’

Michel added: ‘It’s been a real pleasure taking time out of my day to come and visit the children at Highgate Junior School and help them with their fundraising efforts. I would like to wish them the best of luck with the rest of their charity week and hope they raise lots of money for Noah’s Ark.’

Highgate Junior School’s charity week continues with bakes sales and a trip for a small group of Year 6 and 7 pupils to visit the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice site, to see where their new mural will be placed. All of this follows an assembly where pupils learnt more about Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice and heard where money that our Junior School raised last year was spent.  VG
