Last week our Pre-Prep School focused on Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week which involved our youngest pupils exploring differing mindfulness resources.

Children were able to try different activities such as using mindful cards, stacking stones, smelling relaxing scents and even creating fiddle toys to use in ‘Calm Corner.’

Building sugar cube constructions were amongst the mindful activities on offer

Gabrielle Letimier , our Pre-Prep PSHE lead who organised the week said, “This year’s Children’s Mental Health Week theme is ‘Growing Together’ and that’s just what we do at Highgate Pre-Prep!”

Gabrielle continued: “To honour the week’s focus, children are ‘growing’ a piece of mindful art together and reflecting on the many ways we help each other to grow. We also know that children learn best when they feel safe, settled and emotionally prepared for the day ahead, which is why we include mindful moments in our daily activities.”
