We are thrilled to announce that Highgate’s Giving Day 2024 has raised £170,350 for our Bursary Fund and for The London Academy of Excellence Tottenham (LAET).

This year’s Giving Day involved a 24-Hour Running Challenge. Over 2000 people from the Highgate community – including pupils, staff, parents, carers, former staff, OCs and our partner school LAET – rallied to support the campaign by running a collective 3,300km.

24 OCs (Old Cholmeleians, Highgate alumni) and former staff took part all over the world, with an OC runner in Perth kicking off proceedings. The Head, Adam Pettitt, ran 24 miles around the school field, starting at 1am. Pupils from all ages across the school played their part, including Pre-Prep pupils and their parents, who relished the opportunity to be included. “I really enjoyed taking part with (my child)”, one parent enthused.

Some of our Senior School pupils ran significant distances, including Leo in Y10 who clocked up an impressive 50 laps of the school field (30kms), and Maya and Vita who both ran 21km.

Florence Bill, Development Director, said: “I am so touched and grateful to the many people who got behind Giving Day in a whole range of ways, from running miles to reading messages and making donations. This result is everyone’s and will make such a difference to the opportunities of children and young people in and beyond our schools.”
