The Governors of Highgate School are delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Duong as Sally Hancock’s successor as Principal of the Pre-Prep from September 2025.

Emma has been Deputy Principal (Pastoral) of the Junior School since September 2022, a role she has occupied with great success. Emma has taught, and held leadership positions, in state primary schools in London for twelve years, developing a particular expertise in maths teaching. A graduate of Loughborough University, Emma served as Assistant Head in Wembley where, among other responsibilities, she was the designated safeguarding lead and managed curriculum development, before her move to Highgate.

On the announcement of her appointment, Emma said: “I am delighted to be taking up the role of Pre-Prep Principal from September. This is an exciting opportunity to lead this part of the Highgate foundation, to ensure the children engage with an innovative and creative curriculum that fosters their love of learning and helps them to develop the crucial foundation skills to prepare them for the next stage.”

“I am looking forward to continuing the work already begun across the Junior and Pre-Prep Senior Leadership Teams, on ensuring an aligned vision and educational provision across both the Pre-Prep and Junior Schools.”
