Highgate School has launched a new Changemakers Bursary Programme, designed to widen access to its Sixth Form for ambitious, academically gifted pupils who would otherwise be unable to afford school fees.
Funded by generous donor support, this new means-tested, academically selective programme will run in addition to Highgate’s ongoing bursary provision, offering an extra four fully funded places for entry into the school’s Sixth Form for the 2027–2028 academic year. Successful participants will receive a comprehensive package covering school fees, alongside additional funding for co-curricular activities, trips and wider enrichment opportunities.
The programme is aimed at pupils with a strong academic drive and entrepreneurial flair, equipping them with the skills, resilience and networks needed to make significant contributions to their chosen fields at Highgate and beyond.
Highgate’s Head, Adam Pettitt, reflected ‘with the changes and challenges posed by AI in graduate recruitment and in the economy, it’s imperative to think even more inventively about getting bright youngsters and their talents to the front of the queue. I’m very excited indeed and look forward hugely to meeting candidates for this change-making bursary programme who will themselves be the change-makers of the future.’
While applicants intending to study STEM subjects at A level are particularly encouraged to apply, the school welcomes candidates from all academic disciplines.
