Children in the Pre-Prep took part in our annual One World Week at the start of summer term to celebrate the diverse cultures within our community.

Parents and families helped staff to deliver an exciting programme of activities, including food tasting, storytelling, exploring languages rituals and cultural customs. There were drumming and dance workshops, and a special t-shirt day, where children designed their own tops to celebrate their cultures. The week culminated with a ‘One World Week Festival’ where staff and parents set up stalls to reflect their cultural heritage.

Elissa Ellison, Deputy Principal of the Pre-Prep (Curriculum), reflected: “I am always amazed by the creativity, attention to detail and effort that people put into their stalls to make such enriching experiences for the children. The festival is a beautiful reflection of how the Pre-Prep fosters a spirit of celebrating personal identities whilst promoting a sense of togetherness.”

She added, “At the Pre-Prep we talk a lot about mirrors and windows. One World Week is a perfect opportunity for children to see their own cultures and heritage celebrated, whilst opening their eyes and hearts to those of their peers.”
