A group of Year 10 Highgate pupils, accompanied by Ms Avond and Mr Brunskill, spent a week in Paris last month on their French exchange trip.

Mr Brunskill, Head of Sixth Form Pastoral, explains: ‘Our exchange school is in the very plush 16ième quarter, so our pupils got to spend a morning in lessons with their partners, which they found quite revealing!’

Other visits during the exchange included le Musée d’Orsay, le Centre Pompidou, le Château de Versailles, Notre Dame (before the terrible fire), a trip on the Seine, and la Grande Mosquée. Pupils also got to stroll through the Tuileries gardens, Montmartre and the Marais.

Mr Brunskill adds: ‘It was great to hear of the pupils bonding further with their exchange partners, enjoying new foods and, in some cases, trying to explain “le Brexit” at the dinner table!’
