As we bring Lent term to a close, we reflect on the incredible achievements of our Senior School pupils, who reached sporting success at both county and national levels, alongside fantastic individual performances in football, fives, water polo, gymnastics and fencing.
On the national stage, our Senior Girls’ Cross Country team achieved an extraordinary result, finishing 2nd in the National Finals.
Highgate’s Football teams shone in the Middlesex County Cup, celebrating victories for the U13 and U15 Girls, and U14 and U18 Boys (above). Our U18 girls made history for Highgate with their first-ever appearance in a County Cup Final: “A phenomenal achievement owing to the progress we have made in girls’ football over the last three years since its full launch,” explained Mario Noto, Director of Sport and Exercise.

In the pool, our U18 Boys Water Polo team won the English Schools Swimming Association (ESSA) National Plate Finals, with our U15 Girls taking 3rd place.
Over on the Fencing piste, Olivia, Alexandra, Rey and Cara competed in the prestigious Public Schools’ Fencing Championships, winning the Hymers College Cup for the first time. The Girls U15 Foil Team also took gold at the British Fencing Team Championships earlier in the month.

Building on this incredible momentum, the U16 Girls triumphed at the Fives National Schools’ Championships, and Silva, in Year 9, came 1st in her category at the London Gymnastics Championships.
Congratulations to all our athletes mentioned here, and the many others who have represented Highgate this year, performing with great dedication and resilience.
