Get involved

Play your part in transforming Highgate’s future and the lives of thousands of children.

Donating your time and experience to our careers programme

We run a range of activities across our Senior School to support pupils in making informed choices about future careers. We are unique in having a dedicated member of staff with the time and knowledge to support our pupils and arrange our year-long careers programme.

We are always keen to hear from people able to offer their expertise and knowledge to support our careers programme. Perhaps you can attend our annual careers fair, offer mentoring or work experience to pupils, or give a talk about your area of employment? Our Careers and Employability Specialist would love to hear from you!

Donating your time and support as a parent

We recognise that parents can form strong bonds while their children are at Highgate.

For current parents/carers, we have two active Parents’ Associations – Highgate School Parents’ Association (HSPA) for our Senior School and Highgate Pre-Prep and Junior Schools Parents’ Association (HSPPJSPA). Could you help organise key events or be a class rep? Our associations would love to hear from you!

To support past parents, we launched our Past Parents’ Association in 2015. Would you like to maintain your involvement with school life in the years after your children have left Highgate? Our PPA would love to hear from you!

Volunteering through our Chrysalis Partnership Programme

Our innovative Chrysalis Partnership Programme includes different projects with over 50 partner schools across London boroughs. Many projects involve current Highgate staff and pupils, but can also be supported by volunteers from our parents, OCs and friends.

For example, our “Better Reading Partners” initiative sees volunteers spend an hour (or more) reading with children at local state schools. This helps primary, secondary and special needs pupils develop a love of literature, whilst consolidating key reading skills. This project is highly rewarding for volunteers and has contributed to a rise in reading standards for children. Could you make a regular weekly commitment to get involved at one of our partner schools? Our Chrysalis Partnership Programme team would love to hear from you!

Making a donation to Highgate

As part of our 1565 foundation, Highgate was granted land and a title but no endowment to run the School. We are therefore not a wealthy school and 95% of our income comes from fees. Donations help us achieve our core aims by funding bursaries, supporting our Chrysalis Partnership Programme, and enhancing our buildings and educational environment. Are you able to support our charitable aims with a donation? Our Development Office would be happy to talk about this further with you!
