Beyond the classroom

We pride ourselves on the enthusiastic way that our pupils engage with our extensive programme of co-curricular activities.

In the Pre-Prep School, we offer a wide range of clubs and activities that will appeal to our youngest pupils and make their first experience of school not only fun and exciting, but one that helps them build friendships, confidence and a sense of independence.

We are exceptionally fortunate when it comes to sport at Highgate with extensive facilities and excellent staff.

We ensure each Pre-Prep class visits at least one place of interest, each term, connected to their classroom projects.

Across Highgate, we aim to inspire our pupils to think creatively. This goes beyond the classroom, with exciting co-curricular opportunities in all of the creative arts – music, drama, and art.

At Highgate, our co-curricular offerings continue to evolve and develop in response to the changing needs of our pupils and the world around us.

CHARITABLE GIVING

Throughout the school year, our pupils and staff support a number of different charities, with fundraising events including Children in Need, Sport Relief and donations to local food banks.

All Highgate pupils take part in a biennial sponsored walk, which raises in the region of £80,000 for several charities nominated by each school. The Pre-Prep’s chosen charity for 2023-24 is the David Nott Foundation, that help to save lives in countries affected by conflict and catastrophe.

OTHER EVENTS

Our Pre-Prep pupils take part in a range of events throughout the year, ranging from Harvest Festival in our Michaelmas term, a Christmas show in December and a Summer term show.
