Entrance Exams - December 2024

The first part of the assessment consists of three tests taken at the school. We understand how nervous some pupils will be so we endeavour to make the morning as fun and stress-free as possible.

English
Our English paper reflects the KS2 National Curriculum. To help your child prepare, here are some English 11+ sample test papers: English Practice Paper 1, Practice Paper 2 and Practice Paper 3. Please find an 11+ English tutorial film here.

Mathematics
Our Mathematics paper is designed so no specific syllabus or preparation is desirable or necessary.
Here are some Mathematics 11+ sample test papers; Mathematics A, B and C. Answers for Mathematics A are here.
Please find an 11+ Maths tutorial film here.

Non-verbal Reasoning
Please find an 11+ Introduction and Non Verbal Reasoning (NVR) tutorial here.

We also request a confidential reference from your child’s Headteacher.

Interviews - January 2025

A significant proportion of our candidates are invited back for the second stage of assessment: activities and interviews. This consists of a group interview and taster lesson(s). As well as allowing us to get to know your child further, it also enables them to have a taste of school life and to learn more about our School.

Interviews will take place in January 2025.

Offers - February 2025

Our offer letters are posted to successful candidates on early February 2025, with an email sent the following day.

Should you be in the fortunate position of holding several offers or would like to ask further questions, there is an event for children holding offers and their families later in February.

Responses must be received by early March, with a deposit payable on accepting a place. We are always delighted to hear earlier than the deadline!

Welcoming new parents and pupils - Summer 2025

We understand that moving to secondary school is a major change for pupils and parents.

Our Head of Lower School, Head of Year 7 and team of experienced tutors ensure this transition is as smooth as possible through a variety of events for new pupils (joining the school in September 2025) and their families in June 2025.

All our Year 7 pupils visit an activity centre for a day of team-building and group activities, to assist with the formation of friendships and getting to know the staff in August 2025, before the start of term.
