7+ Entrance examination will take place on 7 January 2011

The Junior School became a Key Stage 2 7 to 11 school in 2008. It is also fully and equally coeducational and housed on a single site in Bishopswood Road.

Application

Please complete an application form and return it with the fee (£75) to the Admissions Coordinator. All applications are acknowledged. It is helpful to apply before the end of Year 1. Gaining a place

Candidates sit tests at the school on a day in early January. There are papers in English and Maths which take approximately 50 minutes each. A significant proportion of candidates are interviewed about two weeks later in small groups. We also receive a confidential reference from your child's Head. In 2011, there will be places for 40-50 boys and girls to join 30 children from the Pre-Preparatory School.

Visiting the School

Parents who are considering Highgate for a 7+ place are expected to come to an Open Morning. These Junior School Open Mornings are held throughout the year on a Thursday morning during term time and last about two hours. The visit consists of a talk by the Principal of the Junior School followed by a tour of the Junior School and the Mills Centre for Art, Design and Technology. The Open Morning finishes with refreshments and an opportunity to meet and talk to pupils and staff.
