7+ Entrance Examination will take place on Friday 13 January 2012
7+ Interviews will be on Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 January 2012
7+ Boy and Girl Offers will be posted on Wednesday 1 February 2012
7+ Offer Acceptance deadline date will be Thursday 9 February 2012

The Junior School became a Key Stage 2 (aged 7 to 11) school in 2008. It is also fully and equally coeducational and housed on a single site in Bishopswood Road.

Application

Please complete an application form and return it with the fee (£75) to the Admissions Coordinator. All applications are acknowledged. It is helpful to apply before the end of Year 1. Gaining a place

Candidates sit tests at the school on a day in early January. There are papers in English and Maths which take approximately 50 minutes each. A significant proportion of candidates are interviewed about two weeks later in small groups. We also receive a confidential reference from your child's current Head Teacher. In 2012, there will be places for 40-50 boys and girls to join 30 children from the Pre-Preparatory School.

Visiting the School

Parents who are considering Highgate for a 7+ place are invited to come to an Open Morning. Junior School Open Mornings are held throughout the year on a weekday morning during term time and last about an hour and a half. The visit consists of a talk by the Principal of the Junior School followed by a tour of the Bishopswood Road site (which includes Junior School buildings, Mills Centre for Art, Design and Technology, Mallinson Sports Centre and the Dining Hall). The Open Mornings during the working week are designed for parents only. Children will have an opportunity to view the School on a Saturday in September when all registered candidates are invited to a special Open Day. 

Parents should note that in the Autumn term weekly open mornings are usually fully booked quite quickly. At this time of the year therefore priority is given to the parents of children sitting tests in the following January.
