THE SIR MARTIN GILBERT LIBRARY WAS PACKED DURING LAST WEEK'S HIGHER EDUCATION FAIR

This was the first time the Highgate Higher Education Fair had taken place in a week when we had sustained snow for several days. The inclement weather prevented many of our expected 38 university representatives from attending the event. We were very grateful to the delegates, particularly those from far flung parts of the UK, who made real effort to travel and to rearrange their plans to be at Highgate at an earlier time than planned. Two out of the three university seminars went ahead, with talks from University of Edinburgh on Scottish universities and University of Sussex who heroically stepped in at short notice to give a very interesting and informative talk on personal statements.

The fair was held inside the Sir Martin Gilbert Library, which provided a dramatic back drop for the event and generated much excitement and inspiration for the Year 12 pupils of Highgate and our partnership school pupils as they prepare for the next phase in their educational journey.  JW
