On Tuesday 5 February, The Old Cholmeleian Business Section (OC BS) organized another successful networking event, focused on the media industry.
‘Media and Journalism, with The Guardian’, held at the spectacular head offices of the Guardian newspaper, saw 80 OCs and pupils from LAE Tottenham and Highgate watch a Q&A with Highgate alumni Demi Abiola (HG 1993) and Nick Friend (MG 2013), as well as Coco Khan and Natasha Murray from the Guardian. The panellists shared their experiences and advice, about various aspects of commercial and editorial media.
We are proud that our OCs stay connected with Highgate, and their presence was invaluable for pupils. We are delighted to meet so many OCs who want to ‘give back’ their time, share expertise and offer career advice to younger generations.
As ever, the best part of the evening was the informal networking afterwards, as pupils chatted to our panellists and other OCs: the perfect opportunity for pupils to find out first-hand about careers in media and journalism.
We look forward to another OC BS event on Thursday 21 March, this time focused on law and a career in the legal sector.
