Congratulations to the Class of 2019 whose results were published today! 181 students (98 girls and 83 boys) took a total of 573 exams, either at A level or its equivalent, the Pre-U. A record 41.3% of all exam entries were awarded with the top grade, an A* or a Distinction (D1 or D2) at Pre-U, and 76% of all grades were either A* or A.

38 students were rewarded with a ‘clean sweep’ of three A* or more, and 113 students, or 62% of all Highgate candidates, had at least one A* or more.

Our Head, Adam Pettitt, commented: ‘Let’s remember that these were reformed A level exams, with all tests sat at the end of the course, and no re-sits or modules! Highgate’s students rose to the challenge of harder exams with characteristic ambition and determination, and succeeded. Well done, Year 13 leavers – we are proud of you, and all you have achieved!’

2019 marks the fifteenth anniversary of the introduction of co-education at Highgate. With girls achieving 41.9% and boys 41.2% of the top grade, and 76.4% and 76.1% at A*/A respectively, it’s great to see equality of opportunity and of achievement among both girls and boys!
