Joining our Sixth Form

Next September, we hope to welcome approximately 30 new pupils into Year 12, from a variety of schools and backgrounds. They will join around 185 pupils, moving from Year 11 in our Senior School into our Sixth Form.

Visit us

Our open events for entry in 2026 have now taken place. Our next open event for entry in 2027 will be announced in summer 2026 – please register your interest and we’ll invite you to book a place.

The event is a good opportunity to find out more about the Sixth Form, including:

  • A self-guided tour of the facilities and classrooms.
  • Meeting our teaching staff about the A level subjects we offer.
  • A talk from the Head of Highgate.
  • Chat to our students about their experience.

Entry requirements & applying

Applications for 2026 entry are now closed.

There is an application fee of £210, payable online via Paypal or card. Candidates living abroad required to pay a fee of £420 if sitting the interviews via Zoom. Bursary applicants are not required to pay the full application fee. Please review our admissions policy before applying.

Our entry requirements for Sixth Form are 8s or 9s at GCSE in the four subjects applicants want to study at A level, and an additional four 7s or equivalent. Where a subject is new at A level, applicants will need to have achieved a grade 8 in a related GCSE subject. A personal statement isn’t required.

Interview day

All registered applicants for 2026 entry will be asked to attend an interview day in person at the school on Saturday 15 November 2025.

Applicants will have interviews in each of the subjects nominated for their Sixth Form study, plus a general interview with a senior member of staff, there is no written assessment. We will send more details about the assessment day closer to the time. Interviews offer a chance to meet our staff and ask any specific questions about specific subject choices.

Offers

Following the interview day, successful candidates will be notified by the end of November and we would require your decision of an acceptance by early December. Offers will be conditional of candidates fulfilling their required GCSE exam grades in August.

We invite offer holders to an informal event or to have a school tour in early December. This is an opportunity to hear from staff and sixth formers and ask any final questions you may have before the acceptance deadline.

Once you have received your GCSE results in August, these should be sent to our Admissions Office who will confirm your place and send you some further details before you start in early September.

Welcome events

At the end of the summer and prior to the start of the first term in September, we’ll hold induction events to help new sixth formers settle in, meet their fellow students and find their way around the school.
