Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Our three sciences – biology, chemistry and physics – are taught as part of a general science course in form groups up to Year 7. You have separate lessons from Year 8 onwards and we follow the IGCSE.
Within our Sixth Form, our A level Biology, A Level Chemistry and A Level Physics are popular choices and standards of achievement are high. Every year, several sixth formers apply to Cambridge and Oxford to read these subjects, and a significant number also go on to study medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine.
Our science departments have well-resourced and modern laboratories, and we value a practical approach to the teaching of science, highlighting the importance of actively engaging with the subject. We also co-ordinate and take a leading role in activities for events such as STEM Week.
